I know that people post, try to identity police and bully bisexual people with stuff like that over (and over and over) again.
I know that I am privately currently answering SEVEN Tweens/Teens and YA being bullied for being obviously Transphobic Closeted Sluts of some variety because they identify as Bisexual and that is just in the last few days!
I know that I and others are tying to figure out what to do with an alleged research scientist who start her supposedly objective scientific piece on bisexuality in a well know journal on relationships with the demonstrably false sentence “Bisexuality is the tendency to be sexually attracted to both men and women.” And then when someone semi-privately politely pointed out (with so many citations it could have been damn research paper) that she had perhaps misspoken said “researchers” alternately insisted that the General Public is just Too Stupid to in anyway understand the existence of Trans*/GenderQueer people AND that anyway She Has Decided! that Bisexual People are from now on all only heteronormative cisgender people attracted to same on a 50%/50% basis only and from now on everyone must have new! new! new! different identities that she will assign no matter what the people in question think.
And then this “research scientist” descended into making sarcastic comments about as essay a well know Bisexual Leader of African/First-nations background made that was excerpted in another magazine article as a distraction from her biphobic and transphobic article, (thought in fairness there is discussion underway that perhaps it was not meant as an attack with racial overtones, there was an illustration of the essayist but maybe the reasercher didn’t realize it was a QOC … discussions on that are underway).
I know that I and others are trying to figure out what to do about a long running and heretofore respected blog and podcast about the topic of sexuality in general that interviewed a long standing bisexual leader, therapist and editor at a conference. Then after they broadcast the interview . . . with no one there to even attempt to correct the misinformation they were spewing … proceeded to denegrate and make painfully ignorant, ageist and biphobic comments on the Same Damn Topics as what you allege is just a harmless humorous post.
So … in my exhaustion in dealing with endless biphobic bullying, bigotry and misinformation Please Forgive Me 4 NOT Laughing At THIS!!!!
